Despite his obviously lack of judgement when it comes to EU affairs, Ken Clarke is without doubt one of the best Tories of the modern era. Having proved himself as one the most successful Chancellors in history, Ken is just the man for the job of Shadow Business Secretary. I’m sure that all CFers within the University and indeed the Geater Manchester area, are very excited about the latest reshuffle of the Shadow Cabinet because I, for one, am thrilled about it!! Cameron has demonstrated that traditional conservative values remain his priority and that the experience of the so called ‘Dinosaurs’ is just the sort of thing that, (combined with Cameron’s image and progressive conservative outlook), we need to win us the next election. Clarke has promised to accept the party line on europe. As long as this remains the case I, for one, see the choice as one of Cameron’s best decisions to date.
